About
Focusing on key questions, issues and problems about which Brown faculty, students and our African partners have both great interest and significant expertise, the Africa Initiative will at the same time offer a supportive and welcoming umbrella under which a wider set of programs and activities can be nurtured. With the aim of building a community of scholars dedicated to the study and understanding of Africa, the initiative will endeavor to maximize student participation, cultivating a new generation of citizens, scholars and leaders connected to the continent.
Director's Message
The Africa Initiative welcomes the participation of faculty, students, staff, and community members interested in Africa. Our goals are to strengthen Brown’s Africa-focused intellectual community, enhance the scope of Africa-related activities on campus, and build deeper, more equitable partnerships with collaborators on the continent.
